NINEBANKS YHA HOSTEL WEEKEND open to both troops.
Hostel:- The hostel is a former leadminer’s cottage situated in the quiet valley of Mohope Burn ten miles south of Hexham. The building has full central heating and sleeps 28.
Times:- Meet at 6.30pm Friday 22nd February. We expect to be back at the Scout HQ by 4.30pm on Sunday 24th.
Cost:- £35 includes transport, food, hostel fee, interest visits and activities. Please make cheques to 1st Barnard Castle Scout Troop Wednesday
Programme :- Will include visits to Killhope and Nenthead lead mine, each with a guide. There will be indoor games and a DVD in the evenings. On Sunday there will be a challenge hike over 4 miles. This may be changed if the weather is bad to swimming baths at Hexham.
Gear:- night wear, warm outdoor clothes, spare shirt, socks, under wear, thermals if you have them, wash-kit, towel, trainers, boots hiking trousers or track-suit bottoms , waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, swimming gear. Please name-mark your possessions. We will travel in uniform.
