This year we are taking part in the County's Olympic Challenge. We will be doing activities and challenges that link back to the Olympics. Here are some examples. We are entering a float in the Whit Meet Parade that runs through Barnard Castle. The children will be dressed as athletes and will design and decorate the float with their air work. The float will almost 100% be their own work, not the work of adults trying to win the 1st Prize, because that's what we believe is the most important thing. Any sports equipment that you can loan us will be treated with care and returned to you in good condition. If anyone can drive a HGV please let Jacqui or Debs know. Learn about the other Olympic Countries. We learnt the Olympic motto, in latin and english. India - We tasted Indian Food, we did some Yoga and meditation and we created an elephant chain by making decorated elephants. China - We tasted Chinese food, we learnt how to write our own name in Chinese letters. We listened to a Chinese Fable. Japan - We learnt about the Electronics that Japan produce. Especially the camera, we experimented taking photos of each other, some with funny faces, we took some still life photo's looking at everyday objects at a different angle. Finally we have tried to do some special effects photos of us competing in the Winter Olympics Ski Jumping. See below for our photo's. |
